Philip Williams has over 20 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on embedded systems and telecommunications. Philip has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Their most recent position is as a Principal Software Engineer at Etherstack since 2012. Prior to that, they worked at Thales as a Software Engineer from 2009 to 2012. Philip also has experience as a MMI Team Leader at Software Radio Technology, a Contract Software Engineer at Sharp Telecommunications of Europe, a Senior Software Engineer at Samsung Electronics Research Institute, a Senior Software Engineer at Sharp Telecommunications of Europe, and a Software Engineer at Cognito Ltd. In these roles, they were involved in developing software for various mobile phone platforms, including GSM/GPRS and UMTS/GSM/GPRS, as well as custom PDAs and radio networks. Philip has expertise in areas such as power saving, driver development, and software optimization.
Philip Williams obtained their B.Eng. (Hon) in Electronic Engineering from The University of Manchester in 1995. Philip continued their studies at the same institution and completed an M.Sc. in VLSI Systems Engineering in 1996. Finally, they earned their Ph.D. in Process Tomography from The University of Manchester in 1999.
