Tim Giles has extensive work experience in the field of telecommunications and engineering. Tim is currently working as a Principal Engineer at Etherstack. Prior to that, they served as a Scientific and Technical Officer at the Australian Commonwealth Public Service for over a decade. Before their time in the public service, Tim worked as a Research Leader at EMS Satcom Pacific, where they designed a highly successful multi-user detector for Comtech Mobile's Blue Force Tracking High Capacity Network. Tim also served as an Assistant Professor at the Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm, where they taught various undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to communication theory and wireless networks. Tim also worked as a Research Fellow at the Institute for Telecommunications Research, where they were involved in system design and proof of concept projects.
Tim Giles obtained a B Eng (Hons) and a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Adelaide, where they studied from 1985 to 1995.
