The County of Simcoe is growing every day with new immigrants arriving to embark on their new lives.  It is our hope, and our goal, that the County of Simcoe will be a leader that creates a safe, welcoming community, that celebrates uniqueness and unites us to build a vibrant place to live.

EMA is the Charity we Need… for the Community we want:
EMA started as a coming together of likeminded individuals who believe we have a shared responsibility and commitment to create a safe and welcoming community for all cultures and all people. As we came together, it was clear that our work aligned with the County of Simcoe’s 2012 Community Settlement Strategy themes, and these have focused our work on achieving the goal of creating a place that is a beacon to celebrate the mosaic of cultures we have in our region.
When EMA speaks of place, the “beacon”, it is more than bricks and mortar – it is a culmination of the mosaic cultures and traditions that are celebrated in all our lives and is shared and experienced by all. The celebration of this mosaic will educate about our differences, and the sharing of traditions and learnings will enhance our understanding of each other.
The next five years of EMA’s work will enable us to build a stronger organization that will support all our endeavours to achieve our mission and vision. All our undertakings will align with our Mission, Vision and Values and direct our efforts, energies, and resources to the ultimate outcome,
Based on studies completed, we know there is a need for a lead organization to rally support around multiculturalism in our communities – and we, EMA, are ready and willing to take that on, with the support of a network of ethno-cultural organizations, community leaders, interested corporations and individuals. This work will require the sum of all our efforts to bring this community beacon of multiculturalism to life.
