Chris Thomson

Chris Thomson has extensive work experience in software engineering and management roles. Chris is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Ethoca, where they have been working since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Software Engineering Manager at Ethoca from March 2020 to September 2021.

Before joining Ethoca, Chris worked at GS1 Canada as a Software Development Team Lead from March 2018 to March 2020 and as a Senior Software Developer from March 2017 to March 2018.

Additionally, Chris has experience in various other roles, including General Manager at Aquaddiction Dive from March 2016 to February 2017 and Scuba Dive Instructor at Scuba Schools International from June 2014 to January 2016.

Chris'searlier experience includes working as a Software Developer at GS1 Canada from October 2009 to March 2014, where they were responsible for designing and developing key components of the company's online retailer/item management application.

Chris also worked at Fujitsu UK as a Software Developer and Technical Architect from November 2006 to December 2007, a Software Developer from September 2005 to November 2006, and a Software Developer from January 2008 to May 2009. At Fujitsu UK, they developed robust and secure software products and implemented continuous build integration using tools such as Cruisecontrol.net and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

Chris Thomson attended the University of Glasgow from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Computing Science. In addition to their degree, Chris also obtained certifications including the ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management (ITIL 4) from PeopleCert in 2019, and the Professional Scrum Master 1 certification from Scrum.org in 2018.
