Kien Huynh has an extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Kien started their career as a Summer Production Scheduler at Technican Pacific Industries in 1999. In 2000, they worked as a Webmaster for the Bethune college website at York University. The following year, Kien joined the Financial Model Company as an Intern Software Developer, where they developed GUI applications and standard protocols for web applications. In 2004, they became a Research/Teaching Assistant at York University. Kien then joined Mi9 in 2005 as a Software Engineer. In 2006, they began working at IBM, taking on various roles such as Software Developer for Websphere Business Modeler, Integration Developer, Message Broker, and Blueworks Live. At IBM, Kien also served as the Watson Data Platform - Logging and Monitoring Technical Lead, where they led several projects related to logging analytics, monitoring infrastructure, and executive reporting dashboards. Their most recent role was at Ethoca, where they worked as the Lead/Manager of Software Engineering before being promoted to the position of Director of Software Engineering.
Kien Huynh holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from York University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. Kien later pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science at York University from 2003 to 2005. In 2013 to 2014, Kien Huynh undertook a certification in Project Management at the University of Toronto. Recently, in 2021 to 2022, they completed a certificate program in Applied Data Science at MIT Professional Education. Additionally, Kien Huynh has obtained various certifications, including Scrum Master Certified (SMC), Kubernetes Quick Start, Scrum Fundamentals Certified, Python for Data Science, Data Science Foundations - Level 1 and 2, Streaming Analytics Basics for Python Developers, and IBM Watson Data Platform Foundations.
