Steven Saunders

Steven Saunders is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with over 27 years of experience in the field. Currently serving as an Expert Reviewer for the National Science Foundation's SBIR/STTR Program, Saunders evaluates early-stage technology and commercialization potential. As Chair of the Intellectual Property Department at Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP since 2018, Saunders focuses on helping clients protect and maximize the value of their innovations. Additionally, Saunders is actively involved as an angel investor with Launchpad Venture Group and Hub Angels Investments and contributes as an Advisory Board Member to Etiometry LLC. Previously, Saunders was a Partner at Sunstein Kann Murphy & Timbers LLP where practice encompassed patent and trademark matters, and held roles at various firms after beginning a career with a summer internship at Raytheon. Saunders holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and a JD from the University of Maine School of Law.
