Peter Schmitting is a telecommunications professional with extensive experience in interoperability, standardization, and project management within the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) sector. Currently serving as the Manager of Interoperability and Standardisation at ERTICO - ITS Europe since October 2014, Peter organizes interoperability test events, manages H2020 and CEF projects, and monitors international standardization activities. Additionally, Peter has been an Evaluator for the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme since April 2014 and has owned FSCOM, focused on testing telecommunication devices, since 1995. In parallel, Peter has contributed as an STF Expert at ETSI since 1993, engaging in the production of test specifications for telecommunications protocols. Prior to these roles, Peter served as a Service and Standardization Engineer at Siemens from 1992 to 1994, where responsibilities included servicing test tools and participating in standardization efforts. Peter holds an Engineer diploma in Telecommunications Engineering from the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, obtained in 1991.
