Timo Hakala

Timo Hakala is an experienced professional currently serving as the General Manager of both the Etteplan Technology Center and Xi’an since June 2021, with responsibilities in P/L, resource management, and sales operations. Previously, Timo worked at VTT from August 2010 to May 2021, holding various roles including Research Scientist, Country Manager for China, and Manager of VTT China Operations, focusing on materials research and coordination of activities in the Chinese market. Timo began a career in the technology sector with a traineeship at Nokia in 2008. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Science in Technology from Aalto University and a Master of Science in Technology from Tampere University of Technology, complemented by exchange studies in international marketing and materials science at prestigious institutions such as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Politecnico di Milano.
