Michael Schmidt is passionate about building science and sustainability, focusing on high-performance buildings. Michael served as Project Manager at NYSERDA from 2024 to 2025 and currently holds the position of Sustainability Technical Director at Ettinger Engineering Associates since 2025. Previously, Michael gained experience in building maintenance at Highland Falls/Fort Montgomery School District and worked in various roles related to sustainability, including as a Sustainability Intern at Steven Winter Associates. Michael led a successful project in the DOE Solar Decathlon Design Competition, earning first place while studying for a Bachelor’s of Science in Sustainable Construction Management at the State University of New York College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry.
