Andy Phelps

Andy Phelps has extensive experience in the field of IT infrastructure and data management. Andy currently holds the position of Head of Information Technology & Data Infrastructures at EUMETSAT. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of IT Infrastructure for Luxembourg & Zurich at PLANET PAYMENT (EUROPE) LIMITED.

From 2020 to 2022, Andy served as the Interim Head of IT Infrastructure at Allianz Insurance. During this time, they managed and oversaw the Allianz Central IT Infrastructure Service Provider, ensuring the performance of the infrastructure environment and the delivery of a high-quality support service. Andy also made significant contributions, including improving the quality of desktop releases, migrating applications to the cloud, and enabling remote working capabilities for 6000 users.

Before that, Andy held various roles at companies such as MS Amlin, Royal Bank of Canada, XL Catlin, RBS, Barclays Africa Group Limited, and Barclays Investment Bank. Some notable accomplishments include establishing a new combined IT infrastructure support organization at Barclays Africa Group, driving a change in approach for disaster recovery testing, and successfully delivering a data center build project at Barclays Capital.

Andy Phelps completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Physics at Royal Holloway, University of London, from 1985 to 1987. Following that, in 1988, they attended Cranfield University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Computer Aided Design and Manufacture of Production Machines and Systems.
