Bernd Kaufmann

Bernd Kaufmann has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Bernd began their career in the Bundeswehr as a Flugabwehroffizier from 1984 to 1988. Bernd then worked as a Versuchsingenieur at Starkstrom Anlagen Gesellschaft mbH, where they conducted mechanical and thermal testing on components used in energy supply systems. From 1995 to 1998, they worked as an Entwicklungsingenieur at Adam Opel AG, where they were involved in the development and data acquisition of electric vehicles. Bernd also managed the setup and operation of a fleet of experimental vehicles for an EU-funded project. From 1998 to 2003, they served as a Projektingenieur at Adam Opel AG, overseeing the construction and operation of workshops and test stands for fuel cell development projects. Bernd then took on the role of Manager GME FCA Workshops, Testlabs & Hydrogen Infrastructure from 2003 to 2010, where they were responsible for the coordination of vehicle builds, material management, and facility support. Since 2010, Bernd has been working at EUMETSAT as the Head of General Services Division, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and security of the organization's buildings and site. Bernd also worked as a Project Manager for the construction of a new office building and canteen.

Bernd Kaufmann obtained their education from Fachhochschule Wiesbaden from 1988 to 1991, where they pursued a degree in Allgemeine Elektrotechnik with a specialization in Energietechnik.
