Bernd then took on the role of Manager GME FCA Workshops, Testlabs & Hydrogen Infrastructure from 2003 to 2010, where they were responsible for the coordination of vehicle builds, material management, and facility support. Since 2010, Bernd has been working at EUMETSAT as the Head of General Services Division, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and security of the organization's buildings and site. Bernd also worked as a Project Manager for the construction of a new office building and canteen.

Bernd Kaufmann obtained their education from Fachhochschule Wiesbaden from 1988 to 1991, where they pursued a degree in Allgemeine Elektrotechnik with a specialization in Energietechnik.
