Cosimo Putignano

Cosimo Putignano has extensive experience in the field of engineering and remote sensing, currently serving as System Manager in the Copernicus Mission Development Division at EUMETSAT since May 2016. Previous roles at EUMETSAT include System Engineer for Future Copernicus Missions and System Verification and Validation Engineer for the Meteosat Third Generation Programme. Cosimo's consultancy experience includes support for EPS-SG system test tools while at CS Communication & Systèmes, and performance engineering for the Sentinel-1 Payload Data Ground Segment with SERCO. Early career positions involved remote sensing and logistics engineering. Cosimo holds a Ph.D. in GeoInformation Engineering - Remote Sensing, as well as a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering, all from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, complemented by a Maturità scientifica from Liceo Scientifico "L. Da Vinci."
