Head Of Communication at EUMETSAT

Isabelle Kling has extensive experience in communication and outreach roles. Isabelle is currently working as the Head of Communication at EUMETSAT since July 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Communication and Outreach at Inria from November 2018 to July 2020.

Before joining Inria, Isabelle worked at EMBL from March 2016 to March 2018, where they held multiple roles. Isabelle served as the Communications Coordinator for EMBL sites in Rome and Grenoble, where they were responsible for coordinating various communication projects involving the scientific community. Isabelle also held the position of Scientific Community Engagement Manager, overseeing the development and coordination of engagement initiatives within the EMBL scientific community.

Isabelle's work experience also includes a position at Science in School from June 2014 to March 2016, where they worked as an Editor. Isabelle was involved in managing specific projects, such as defining a new visual identity for the journal and upgrading the website and paper version. Isabelle was responsible for content selection, illustration selection, translations management, and coordination for design and layout. Additionally, they coordinated the editorial committee and managed the distribution of the journal.

Furthermore, Isabelle worked as a Project Officer at EMBL from March 2012 to October 2014. In this role, they were involved in the coordination of the CommHERE project, which aimed to improve communication on EU-funded health research projects. Isabelle managed the work-package on media relations, conducted administrative tasks, and set up various communication tools for the project partners.

Isabelle Kling also gained experience as a Press Officer at Institut Pasteur from November 2011 to February 2012. Isabelle worked as a Freelance Scientific Communication and Public Relations Consultant at IKom from September 2009 to July 2011. Additionally, they were a Member of the Executive Board at the Association des communicateurs scientifiques du Québec from 2009 to 2011.

Earlier in their career, Isabelle worked as a Communication and Public Relations Coordinator at McGill University Health Centre from June 2007 to September 2009, and at Sidaction from May 2006 to September 2006.

Overall, Isabelle Kling has a strong background in communication across various scientific organizations and has held leadership positions in communication and outreach.

Isabelle Kling completed their Master's degree in Scientific Communication at the Université Bordeaux Montaigne (formerly known as Bordeaux 3) from 2005 to 2006. Prior to that, they earned their Master's degree in Analyses Biologiques et Chimiques from the University of Strasbourg from 2000 to 2001.
