Head Of Digital Solutions And SAF Division at EUMETSAT

Lothar Wolf has extensive experience in the field of data services and digital solutions. Lothar has worked at EUMETSAT since 2004, where they have held various roles. Currently, they serve as the Head of Digital Solutions and SAF Division, where they are responsible for providing a state-of-the-art data service portfolio and managing the Satellite Application Facilities (SAF) Network. Lothar also plays a leading role in initiatives such as the European Weather Cloud (EWC), WEkEO, and Destination Earth. In their previous role as the Competence Area Manager for Data Services, Lothar was responsible for defining the medium and long-term data services strategy and implementing projects to innovate and enhance data services. Before joining EUMETSAT, Lothar worked at ECMWF as an Analyst, where they were responsible for the development and maintenance of data acquisition and dissemination systems. Lothar also worked as a Software Engineer at Deutscher Wetterdienst.

Lothar Wolf completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Meteorology from Fachhochschule des Bundes fuer Oeffentliche Verwaltung during the years 1989 to 1992. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at The Open University from 2000 to 2003.
