Roberto Porta

Roberto Porta has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies in the field of space engineering and information technology. roberto started their career in 1999 as an IT Consultant at T.I.M. Informatica, where they specialized in industrial automation, project management, system design, software development, and maintenance contracts. In 2000, they joined THALES ALENIA SPACE as a Ground Segment SW Developer, working on RadarSat 2 ground segment and EGSE test equipment. roberto'sresponsibilities included software requirement specification, design, and development. In 2004, Roberto joined VEGA Space Gmbh as a Senior Consultant System Engineer. Later that year, they also began working at the European Space Agency (ESA), initially as a MARS EXPRESS Data Handling Engineer and later as a ROSETTA Spacecraft Operations Engineer. During their time at ESA, they gained extensive experience in satellite design and operations, ground segment maintenance and development, and mission operations. Finally, in 2018, they joined EUMETSAT as an EPS-SG System Operations Engineer. The chronological order of their work experience highlights their progressive growth and expertise in the field.

Roberto Porta obtained their Master's Degree in Computer Science and Automation Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, where they studied from 1991 to 1998. Prior to that, they received an Engineer Diploma in Electronics and Computer Science from I.T.I.S. Leonardo Da Vinci, completing their studies from 1985 to 1990. In addition to their formal education, Roberto also obtained several certifications. In 2014, they completed the courses "An Introduction to Operations Management" and "Supply Chain Management: A Learning Perspective" from Coursera. In 2015, they obtained a certification in "International Leadership and Organizational Behavior" from the same institution.
