Robin Ekelund

Robin Ekelund, PhD, has a strong background in microwave and sub-millimeter science. In their role as a Microwave and Sub-millimeter Scientist at EUMETSAT, they supported the development, validation, and verification of data products for new generation weather satellites. They also developed and maintained software in Python, Fortran90, and MATLAB, and had responsibilities in employee and service management. Prior to this, Robin worked as a Doctoral Researcher at Chalmers tekniska högskola, where they focused on improving the representation of atmospheric ice particle scattering in weather and climate models. They also developed and maintained an open-access database and successfully published five scientific articles. Robin has presented their work at conferences such as the American Geophysics Union (AGU).

Robin Ekelund, PhD, obtained a Master of Science in Engineering Physics with a specialization in Quantum Optics from The Faculty of Engineering at Lund University. This degree was earned between 2008 and 2014. Prior to their university studies, Robin attended S:t Petri skola from 2005 to 2008, where they completed the Naturvetenskapsprogrammet (Natural Sciences' programme).
