Ruth Evans

Ruth Evans has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Ruth began their career as a journalist at The News-Mail in 1988, where they worked until 1992. During this time, they gained experience as a journalist. From 1992 to 1994, Ruth worked in the Queensland Government as an Assistant Ministerial Policy Advisor and later as an Acting Senior Media Advisor. Ruth then transitioned to the field of media and communications, working as the Editor of The Douglas Times and later as Chief Reporter at The Cairns Post, both News Limited newspapers. In 1998, Ruth joined the Queensland Government as a Senior Media Advisor and remained in this role until 2005. From 2007 to 2011, they served as the Media and Communications Manager for the Immigrant Council of Ireland. Ruth's most recent position, starting in 2012, was with EUMETSAT, where they worked as a Content Coordinator/Writer and Communications Support. In this role, they organized events, wrote articles for the organization's websites and intranet, and initiated a project involving film students to produce videos.

Ruth Evans completed their secondary education at Oxley State High School from 1979 to 1983. Ruth then pursued their higher education at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), earning a Bachelor of Business - Communications degree with a focus on Journalism from 1984 to 1988.
