Timo Hanschmann has a diverse work experience in various scientific roles. Timo started their career in 2006 as a Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft at the Leibniz Institute of Marine Science and worked there until 2009. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Scientist at the Leibniz Institute for tropospheric research. In 2010, they joined the Deutscher Wetterdienst / German Weather Service as a Scientist and Earth Observation Expert, staying there until 2017. Timo then moved on to HAMTEC Consulting Ltd, where they worked as an Atmospheric Sounding Engineer from 2017 to 2019. Currently, they are employed at EUMETSAT as a Climate Product Expert since 2019.
Timo Hanschmann pursued their education in the field of Meteorology. Timo completed their Diplom degree in Meteorologie from Universität Kiel, covering the period from 2004 to 2009. Subsequently, they attended Leipzig University and obtained a Doctor rerum naturalium degree in Meteorology from 2010 to 2014.
Additionally, Timo also obtained certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In July 2012, they completed the Schlüsselkompetenzen / Controlling, Finanzplanung, Investitionsbewertung certification offered by Employability and Leadership Skills for Young Saxon Researchers (ELSYS) at Universität Leipzig. In January 2012, they received a certification in Academic English Writing through a language course at the University of Leipzig.
