Dan Wang

Dan Wang is an accomplished economist with extensive experience in macroeconomics and geopolitics. Currently serving as China Director at Eurasia Group since February 2025, Dan focuses on China’s macroeconomic landscape and geopolitical issues. Previously, from January 2020 to January 2025, Dan held the position of Chief Economist at Hang Seng Bank (China), specializing in capital markets and housing. Dan's early career includes a role as an Analyst at The Economist Intelligence Unit from January 2015 to January 2020, concentrating on urban economics and the Chinese consumer. Additionally, Dan worked as a Postdoc at the Chinese Academy of Sciences from January 2013 to January 2015, leading national surveys on agriculture. Dan holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Economics from the University of Washington and was a visiting student in Economics at Harvard University.
