Marcel Janer

Marcel Janer is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in the field of physics and materials science. Currently serving as a substitute professor in physics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since January 2025, Marcel has also been an advanced researcher at Eurecat - Centro Tecnológico de Catalunya since May 2015. Previous academic roles include an associate professor in the department of Applied Physics at Universitat de Barcelona from October 2022 to September 2024 and a researcher at Ascamm from April 2012 to May 2015, specializing in simulations in plastic treatment using ultrasound and finite elements. Marcel began the research career as a junior researcher at iMat Centre Tecnologic de la Construcció from January 2008 to March 2012. Education includes a PhD in Materials Science, an MSc in Applied Mathematics, and a Licentiate in Physics from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Universitat de Barcelona, respectively, alongside a professional degree in Piano from Conservatori del Liceu.
