Matthew Whellens

Matthew Whellens is currently serving as the National Contact Point for the EU Research Framework Programmes in Industry and Space at Euresearch, a position they have held since 2019. Prior to this role, they worked at Ansaldo Energia as an R&D Project Manager for the GT36 Compressor from 2016 to 2019, and at Alstom Power, holding various roles including R&D Project Manager and Performance Engineer from 2010 to 2016. They began their career at Rolls-Royce as a Civil Aerospace Graduate Trainee in 2004. Matthew holds a PhD in Gas Turbine Engineering from Cranfield University and a cum Laude degree in Aerospace Engineering from Università di Pisa.
