The first Space Camp took place at the Andøya Space Center in 1996, with 20 participants from across Scandinavia in attendance. After this initial success, European Space Camp quickly became an annual event and as of 2025, has attracted more than 640 participants from over 36 countries across the world. European Space Camp is a non-profit organisation that aims to encourage students to pursue further education in space research, science, technology and education.
