ETD ran the European Creep Collaborative Committee (ECCC) for many years and currently co-ordinates the European Pressure Equipment Research Council (EPERC).

ETD led the development of the European High Temperature Defect Assessment (HIDA) Procedure, which harmonised defect assessment processes from the UK, France, Germany etc into a common recognised standard.
  
ETD runs an International P91 Users' Group and has built up significant expertise in this steel and its issues.

ETD continues to run the Operations, Maintenance and Materials Issues (OMMI)journal.
