Derek Yegian

Derek Yegian has over 25 years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering. From 2013 to present, they have served as Vice President of Manufacturing for EUV Tech, the world's leading manufacturer of metrology equipment for EUV lithography. From 1994 to 2013, they were employed by the Environmental Energy Technologies Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where they held various roles such as Mechanical Design Engineer, Principal Research Associate, and Senior Research Associate. During their tenure with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, they were responsible for the design and development of the patented Low Swirl Burner technology, precision optics, kinematic support structures, diagnostic equipment, chambers, and other mechanical systems to contain an x-ray beam within an ultrahigh vacuum environment. Derek also co-designed an automated combinatorial microcrystallization system, endstation components for a synchrotron source, an optical sediment trap for carbon sequestration research, and low pollution burners.

Derek Yegian began their educational journey at Fairview High School and then attended Dartmouth College from 1987-1991, where they earned a BA in Engineering and Environmental Science. Derek then attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1991-1993, where they earned a Master's of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a Heat Transfer major and Design & Energy minors. Additionally, Derek obtained a Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) from SolidWorks Corporation in April 2011 and a GD&T Technologist from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in July 2010.
