Jorge Maroto

Jorge Maroto has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Jorge started their career as a freelance web developer in 2004 before transitioning to work as a J2EE developer at Centro Experimental del Conocimiento in 2009. In 2010, Maroto joined LUCE INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES as an iOS developer, where they developed iOS applications for both local and international companies. Jorge then worked as the Head of Product Development at Blink by Groupon in 2011, overseeing the development of the iOS application and web services for luxury hotel reservations. In 2012, Maroto worked as a Project Manager and iOS developer at Mountain In View Ltd., managing the "Scooter OCD" project and collaborating on B2B projects. Jorge co-founded TactilApp in 2010, where they worked as a co-founder and iOS/Web developer, focusing on app development for other companies. Maroto joined ticketea by Eventbrite in 2013 as an iOS developer and later became a Senior Software Engineer, assisting with the development of several services using Django, PHP, and CoffeeScript. After ticketea was acquired by Eventbrite in 2018, Maroto became a Senior Software Engineer II, collaborating with teams from other offices and working on event listing pages and the Creator Collections project. In December 2020, they transitioned to the role of Staff Software Engineer, participating in architectural proposals related to reliability and scalability and assisting with onboarding in these topics for the team.

Jorge Maroto completed their Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Universidad de Valladolid, specializing in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management. Jorge pursued further studies and obtained a Master of Research degree in ICT, Computer Science from the same university. In addition, Jorge obtained a certification in Cloud Computing with Amazon Web Services (AWS) from Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in November 2017.
