Mitch Thrower has over 20 years of experience in business and entrepreneurship. In 1990, they founded The College Connection, Inc. (RailConnection) and served as its CEO and Founder until 1997, when it was sold to Student Advantage. Mitch then co-founded The Active Network (Active.com) in 1997 and served as Co-Founder and Chief Strategist, successfully developing and implementing strategy and raising over $52 million in venture capital. In 2001, they co-founded Active Europe and served as its CEO and Co-Founder. From 2004 to 2010, they were Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of San Diego, lecturing for the SIBC and LIFE Institute. In 2008, they joined Competitor Group as Chief Interactive Officer, Strategist, Senior Correspondent, and Investor. In 2010, they founded Events.com and served as its CEO, Chairman, and Founder. Mitch also founded La Jolla Foundation in 1996 and currently serves as its Founder and Co-Chairman.

Mitch Thrower's education history includes a BA in Philosophy from St. Lawrence University, which they completed between 1986 and 1990. Mitch then attended UC San Diego for graduate work in Math, Economics, Statistics, and Business Law from 1995 to 1997. Afterwards, they attended the University of San Diego for an MBA in Business and Entrepreneurship from 1999 to 2001. In 2014, they completed the Stanford Executive Institute at Stanford University, focusing on Technology Ventures & Entrepreneurship. Mitch also attended the Regent Street Diplomatic Acadamy in London in 1988 and Yale University in 1987 for Strategic Studies. Finally, they attended Staples High School between 1984 and 1986.
