Derek's experience also includes a role as the Regional Sales and Business Development Manager at Repairing America, where they managed a sales team and implemented standardized sales strategies. Additionally, they served as a Regional Sales Manager at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, managing a book of business generating significant revenue. Derek started their career in the US Army, serving as a Captain in the Infantry.

Derek Kabel completed their secondary education at Andover High School from 1984 to 1988. After graduating from high school, they pursued higher education at Eastern Michigan University from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Social Science. In addition to their formal education, Derek has also obtained several certifications. In July 2018, they obtained a certification in Sales: Customer Success from LinkedIn. In May 2018, Derek obtained a certification in Social Selling with Salesforce, again from LinkedIn.
