John Newman

John Newman has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John has served as a Lead Frontend Engineer at Evernow starting from February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at InVision as a Lead Frontend Engineer from November 2019 to February 2022.

Before joining InVision, John worked at Olark from July 2016 to November 2019 as a Recursive Metafunctionalist. At Olark, they were involved in architecting, building, and maintaining React/Redux apps and contributed to GraphQL APIs and web services written in Python and Ruby.

From October 2014 to July 2016, John held the position of Creative Director/Director of Front-End Engineering at Axial LLC, where they managed creative efforts, including UX and design, as well as front-end technologies and backends written in Node.js. John also briefly worked as a Designer at Axial LLC from June 2014 to October 2014.

John's earlier experiences include working as a Designer/UX Developer at Basho Technologies, Inc from August 2011 to June 2014, a Creative Engineer at IRBsearch, LLC from December 2009 to October 2011, and as a Web and Graphic Designer in their freelance capacity from January 2007 to August 2011.

John'searliest role was as a Researcher at the Florida Center for Reading Research from July 2005 to December 2009. During this time, they administered assessments, worked with research data, and solved various computer-related issues related to research reliability. Overall, John has demonstrated expertise in frontend engineering, design, and research, with a focus on building robust web interfaces and user experiences.

John Newman attended Tallahassee Community College from 2005 to 2007, where they earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Studies. John later enrolled at Florida State University from 2008 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Political Science and Anthropology.
