Olivia Mallon

Olivia Mallon's work experience begins with their current position as a Software Engineer Intern at EverQuote since July 2022. In this role, they work within a Full-Stack team with a focus on Front-End development using React, TypeScript, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). Olivia is responsible for managing and deploying systems across different verticals within the organization, collaborating with colleagues across time zones. Olivia has also gained experience in AWS and various cloud technologies, working towards making systems more config-based and implementing a focused CI/CD pipeline.

Prior to EverQuote, Olivia worked as a Systems Design Engineer at Sensata Technologies from September 2021 to November 2021. Olivia was involved in daily stand-ups, communicated progress on testing Hubs and Range Extenders (ReXs), and solved issues that arose. Olivia also had a summer placement as a Systems Design intern at Sensata Technologies from June 2021 to September 2021, where they learned about stand-ups and effective communication within teams to meet deadlines. Olivia developed an understanding of Sensata's full-stack system during this time.

Before their time at Sensata Technologies, Olivia worked as a Customer Service Assistant at MPL CONTACT LIMITED from September 2020 to March 2021. In this role, they answered phone calls on behalf of other companies and provided advice on company details.

Olivia also has experience as a Sales Assistant and Sales Colleague at The Original Factory Shop. From August 2019 to January 2020, they advised customers on product choices, maintained cleanliness in the shop, and developed knowledge in frequently used products. Olivia held the role of Sales Colleague from January 2019 to June 2019, with similar responsibilities.

Additionally, Olivia gained work experience at Kainos in December 2018. During this time, they participated in a mini hackathon and created a website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Olivia learned about teamwork and the life of software engineers through this opportunity.

Olivia Mallon pursued their education at Sullivan Upper School from 2013 to 2020, where they completed their GCSEs and A-Levels. Olivia then enrolled in Queen's University Belfast in 2020 and is expected to graduate in 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

In addition to their formal education, Olivia has obtained various certifications in the field of technology and programming. Olivia completed courses such as "Web Security: Common Vulnerabilities And Their Mitigation," "Introduction to Cloud Computing on AWS for beginners [2022]," "Secure Coding - Secure application development," and "Understanding TypeScript - 2022 Edition" at Udemy.

Olivia also holds certifications from Nigma, including the "HackTheHub Certificate of Completion 2022." Furthermore, they have completed courses titled "Intermediate R," "Introduction to Importing Data in R," and "Introduction to R" on DataCamp.
