Everyplace partners with refugee communities to create beauty, belonging, and dignity in the places they're living right now—because life doesn't pause in displacement, and dignity can't wait for policy to catch up.

The Problem We Address

More than 75% of refugees live away from home for years, sometimes decades. Yet the spaces they inhabit—tents, camps, warehouses, shipping containers—were never designed for long-term living. These environments communicate impermanence and exclusion, even as life continues: children grow up, families form, milestones are marked. When humanitarian response focuses solely on survival, it overlooks the fact that people are also living. Millions spend years, sometimes entire childhoods, in places that erode dignity, hope, and any sense of home.

Our Approach

Everyplace partners with local leaders in refugee communities and supports communities’ visions, plans and priorities to making the places they live right now feel more like home. This includes gardens, murals, gathering spaces, and the reimagining of everyday environments. We do not replace humanitarian aid or policy reform; we intervene where those systems fall short, working to restore humanity inside long-term displacement.

We follow the lead of communities already doing this work. The impulse to create home exists. We recognize it, fund it, and amplify it, bringing these acts of agency from the margins to the center of global displacement response.

Our Origins

Everyplace builds on foundational research conducted through Clark University's Home Ground Lab, which developed frameworks demonstrating that beauty is not optional in humanitarian contexts, it is infrastructure for dignity, healing, and belonging.

Structure

Everyplace operates as a project of Players Philanthropy Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN: 27-6601178). Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
