John Donners is an experienced professional in high performance computing and oceanography. John began a career as a PhD student at KNMI from 2001 to 2004, focusing on the South Atlantic's role in global thermohaline circulation. Following this, John worked as a Research Scientist at the University of Reading from 2004 to 2007, where climate simulations were conducted at the Earth Simulator Center in Yokohama, Japan. From 2008 to 2018, John provided technical support as a Consultant at SURFsara. Currently, John serves as a Senior HPC Performance Engineer at Eviden, a role commenced in April 2023, and previously held the same title at Atos from April 2018 until June 2025. John's academic background includes an MSc in Physics from Radboud University and a PhD in Oceanography from Utrecht University.
