Darin Kohles

Darin Kohles has a diverse work experience in the field of software development. Darin began their career as an Application Developer at Digital Positions, where they worked on web application development using technologies like ColdFusion, Flash, Flex, DHTML, and AJAX. Darin then moved on to Echo 11 as an Application Developer, where they focused on developing and architecting e-learning development, deployment, and presentation tiers using Flash, Flex, and ColdFusion.

Kohles then joined Sysco as a Senior Consultant with Adobe Consulting, where they provided consulting services. Darin later worked at Dow AgroSciences as a Senior Analyst, R&D, developing web-based applications to support genetic research. Their role included developing intuitive software for seamless tracking of genetic traits using JavaScript, Ajax, Java, and Oracle technologies.

Kohles then joined APCON as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed a web-based application for dynamic control and management of programmable network switches. Darin continued their career at Nike as a Senior Java Developer, supporting the Consumer Profile Capability group. Darin worked on a full stack, including JavaScript API, Java service layer, and Oracle persistence layer.

Kohles then founded their own company, Original Technology Innovations, where they focused on applying new and existing technologies to solve client-driven needs, particularly in web and web-facing technologies.

Darin later joined LaCie as a Senior Developer, where they provided e-commerce support for payment systems and integrated secure solutions for payment platforms like CyberSource, PayPal, and Paymetrics.

Kohles is currently working at Evisions Inc. as a Senior Application Engineer, supporting the addition of permission-based viewing for a Multi-Campus version of the Cayuse management software. This software is used by institutions to manage the life cycle of grant proposals.

Throughout their career, Kohles has gained expertise in various technologies, including MS SQL Server, ColdFusion, jQuery, ActionScript/Flex, JavaScript, Backbone, Underscore, and more.

Darin Kohles completed a Phd Program in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology from the year 2000 to 2001. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for a period of eight years, from 1986 to 1994.
