With prior experience as Chief Mining Engineer at Vale, where a technical services department was developed, and roles at Barrick Gold Corporation, Hudbay Minerals, and other companies, Luis has demonstrated expertise in safety leadership, project planning, and operational efficiency. Luis holds a Master of Engineering in Mining Engineering from The University of British Columbia and multiple degrees in engineering disciplines, showcasing a strong educational background in the field.
