Patrick Heffernan

Patrick Heffernan is a seasoned mining professional currently serving as a Senior Mining Engineer at Evolution Mining since February 2023, where responsibilities include leading a team of five engineers in short-range planning and operational functions at the Lake Cowal open pit. Prior to this role, Patrick accumulated extensive experience at Rio Tinto from February 2018 to February 2023, where positions ranged from Production Supervisor to Mine Planning Engineer. Initial industry exposure began with vacation student roles at Aeris Resources Limited and Minara Resources, focusing on underground operations and technical services respectively. Patrick holds a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mining/Civil) from the University of Wollongong, complemented by a high school education from Edmund Rice College Wollongong.
