Simon Barnes

Simon Barnes is an accomplished mining professional currently serving as Principal - Infrastructure & Assets at Evolution Mining since January 2022, following a series of progressive roles including Superintendent - Planning & Scheduling and Production Superintendent. Prior to this, Simon held various positions at Glencore Copper - Ernest Henry Mining and other divisions of Glencore from 2014 to 2022, ranging from Production Superintendent to Mining Superintendent. Simon has a robust background in drill and blast operations and mine planning, beginning with a foundational role as a Vacation Student in Mining Engineering at Xstrata Copper. Educated at Camborne School of Mines with a B.Eng in Mining Engineering, Simon combines technical expertise with significant experience in underground and production environments.
