Sunthar Visuvalingam has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sunthar started their career in 1993 as a Development/Acquisitions Editor at Macmillan Computer Publishing, where they acquired and scheduled authors for computer and IT-related books. Sunthar then moved on to Que Education & Training, where they served as an Executive Editor and planned and executed the Microsoft Office 2000 Essentials series.

Visuvalingam later joined InformIT (Pearson Education) as the Director of Research & Development before becoming a grant awardee at Infinity Foundation. Sunthar then worked at svAbhinava Consulting as a Consultant, undertaking various short-term consulting projects ranging from workflow re-engineering to translating between multiple languages.

Sunthar'snext role was at DxO Labs, where they focused on competitive intelligence, customer support, and technical support. Sunthar also served as the Manager of Research & Analysis at Evolve24.

Visuvalingam's next career move was as a Consultant (Information Architect) at ByteManagers, Inc. and later as a Web Master - Editor & Publishing Coordinator at svAbhinava Collective.

Throughout their career, Visuvalingam has demonstrated expertise in research and analysis, information architecture, knowledge management, and publishing coordination. Sunthar has successfully managed projects, led teams, conducted market research, and provided valuable support to both internal and external stakeholders.

Sunthar Visuvalingam obtained their PhD in philosophy and aesthetics from Banaras Hindu University, where they studied from 1972 to 1983. Sunthar then pursued post-doctoral studies in aesthetics, philosophy, and religion at the same institution from 1984 to 1989. Following this, Sunthar Visuvalingam continued their post-doctoral studies in anthropology of religion at Université Paris Nanterre from 1984 to 1991. Finally, they completed another post-doc program at Harvard University from 1991 to 1993, focusing on comparative religion and Indian studies.
