Dirk Schön

Dirk Schön has extensive work experience in various roles at Evonik and other companies. Dirk started their career as a Management Consultant at McKinsey&Company from November 2001 to April 2004. Dirk then moved to Evonik Shared Services and worked as an Inhouse Consultant from September 2004 to June 2007. Dirk then joined Evonik Degussa GmbH, Frankfurt as a Senior Controller from July 2007 to September 2009. After that, they worked as the Director of Strategic Marketing Special Oxides and Dispersions at Evonik Industries AG from October 2009 to August 2013. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Specialty Silica at Evonik since June 2020, and prior to that, they were the Director of Strategic Projects, BL Si from August 2013 to June 2020.

Dirk Schön completed their education at Technical University Munich, where they obtained a Diploma in Chemistry in 1999. Dirk later pursued a PhD in Polymer Chemistry at the same university from 1999 to 2001. In 2000 and 2001, they also engaged in a visiting scientist program at the University of Akron, Ohio, without pursuing a specific degree.
