Florian Defèr

Florian Defèr is an experienced engineering professional specializing in maintenance governance, asset management, and technical service development, currently serving as Director at Evonik since September 2022. In this role, Florian leads a team of Reliability Engineers and Technicians, focusing on the optimization of chemical plants and the implementation of risk management strategies. Prior to Evonik, Florian held positions at FIR an der RWTH Aachen, Center Smart Services, and Knauf Gips KG, where responsibilities included managing consulting projects in smart maintenance, developing maintenance management concepts, and overseeing employee development. Florian holds a Doktor-Ingenieur in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University and a Diplom-Ingenieur from TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
