Michael Holthausen was born and raised in Reken, North Rhine-Westphalia, and attended the University of Muenster from 2004 to 2009, where they studied chemistry. They completed their PhD in inorganic chemistry with summa cum laude in 2013, focusing on polyphosphorus frameworks and organo-phosphorus compounds, and later held postdoctoral positions at the University of Toronto and TU Dresden. Since 2020, Michael has been working with Evonik, currently serving as the Head of R&D Technology – Organic Polymers.
