Junaid Akhtar

Junaid Akhtar is a Principal Scientist and Team Leader at Evotec, leading projects from target identification to lead optimization since January 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Neurobiology and Developmental Biology, where Junaid was a principal investigator studying interactions between transcription, splicing, and epitranscriptomics. Earlier roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Molecular Biology and at EMBL involved research on transcriptional kinetics and regulatory networks. Junaid holds a PhD in Molecular and Developmental Biology from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory and has an upcoming Executive MBA from Mannheim Business School, further enhancing expertise in business administration and management.
