Andre Cunha has a long and varied work experience. Andre began their career in 1979 as an Officer in the Air Force, where their last active duty rank was Captain. In 1991, they became an MD-11 Jet Pilot for VASP Airlines. In 1995, they founded and became the CEO of Linkcel. In 1999, they founded and became President of Brightpoint. In 2001, they co-founded DirectNet and was the VP of Business Development. In 2002, they founded and became the CEO of Elef, a company that developed, manufactured, and marketed Smartphones to a wide range of clientele. In 2014, they became a Mentor for Alinha, a startup company that developed technology to disintermediate supply chains, and an Advisory Board Member for Message for Freedom, a Rockefeller Foundation and Alianca Empreendedora project that aimed to unveil and eradicate deteriorating labor conditions within the workforce of the Fashion industry in South America. In 2015, they became a Member of the Board of Directors for RFIDEAS BR, the leading company within the IT Asset Tracking and Security market in Brazil. Finally, in 2011, they founded and became the CEO of eWally, a platform for mobile payments that also offers a variety of financial services.
Andre Cunha completed their Engenheiro in Electrical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA between 1979 and 1983. Andre then obtained their Master of Science (MSc) in Optics/Optical Sciences from the University of Michigan in 1986 and their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1990.
