Ruben Graff has extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Ruben started their career in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Program Analyst for the Director of Training and later rose to the rank of Captain. Ruben also served as the Commander of the 451st 60-man Airborne Detachment, overseeing recruitment, training, payroll, and evaluations.
After their military service, Graff worked as an Assistant Data Processing Manager at a local beauty supply company, where they maintained PC software and hardware and managed the Novell LAN system. Ruben was responsible for system backups, hardware troubleshooting and repair, the help desk, inventory processing, and instructional development for end users.
Graff then joined CoreSource as a Network Administrator, where they built and branded IBM-compatible clone computers and designed computer networks for various small businesses. Ruben provided personalized training to end users and maintained network systems, including Tricord super server hardware and the network email system.
Next, Graff worked at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance as a Server Support Administrator, supporting 350 servers, managing server hardware and data centers, and overseeing the Microsoft AD and Novell networks. Ruben also played a key role in virtualizing enterprise application servers and redesigning the enterprise data center.
Graff later worked at Farm Bureau Insurance as a Network Administrator, where they rolled out a VMware Enterprise Cluster and virtualized the majority of enterprise application servers. Ruben also restructured the enterprise data center and designed manageable mini-data centers for each campus.
At Computer Concepts, Graff owned a home-based computer reseller and repair shop. Ruben offered services such as PC bench repair and upgrades, VoIP, software, and operating systems.
Graff then joined Harrison College as an Infrastructure Manager, where they managed a team responsible for servers, data, and network connectivity across 10 campuses. Ruben played a pivotal role in re-engineering Harrison College's core infrastructure, including the rollout of an ESX Enterprise cluster, virtualization of Citrix Metaframe, and the restructuring of campus data centers.
During their time at Harrison College, Graff also served as an Adjunct Professor and a Systems Engineer. As an adjunct professor, they taught courses at the college. As a systems engineer, they were involved in designing and restructuring mini data centers, providing core support for enterprise application upgrades, and negotiating maintenance contracts.
Finally, Graff currently works at Exacq Technologies as a Senior Supervisor of Hardware Engineering. Ruben'sresponsibilities include supervising the hardware testing and engineering support team, developing products using exacqVision VMS, and bringing new server appliances to market.
Throughout their career, Graff has acquired certifications such as VCP (VMware Certified Professional) and has become a local VMware expert.
Ruben Graff obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Business Analysis from Indiana University Bloomington between 1981 and 1986. During the same period, they also pursued another Bachelor of Science degree in Decision Science/Operation & Systems Management from Indiana University. In 2012, Ruben obtained a certification in VMware VCP from VMware. Later, they pursued a Master's of Science degree in Information Technology Management from Western Governors University between 2019 and 2020.
