Hatim Allawi

Dr. Hatim Allawi is the current Vice President of Research and Technology Development at Exact Sciences. Hatim has over 20 years of experience in the biotech industry, holding various leadership positions in research and development.

Dr. Allawi started their career as a Principal Scientist at Third Wave Technologies in 1998. Hatim was later promoted to Director of Discovery & Advanced Technologies at Hologic, Inc. (Third Wave Technologies) in 2004. In 2009, they became the Sr. Director & Head of Office of Research & Development at the King Hussein Institute for Biotechnology and Cancer. Hatim held this position until 2011 when they joined Exact Sciences.

At Exact Sciences, Dr. Allawi has been instrumental in developing the company’s innovative cancer detection technologies. Hatim has led the research and development team in creating new ways to detect cancer earlier, when it is most treatable. Under their leadership, Exact Sciences has become a leading player in the fight against cancer.

After completing their Executive MBA at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Hatim Allawi pursued a Ph.D. in Biophysical Chemistry at Wayne State University. Hatim completed their undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Binghamton University.

Their manager is Kevin Conroy, Chairman & CEO. Hatim Allawi works with Scott Coward - Chief Legal Officer, Millie Cason - VP, Financial Planning & Analysis, and James Light - VP, Systems Development.
