Mike Carleton worked as a Principal Software Engineer at ExaGrid Systems from October 2010. Mike was responsible for designing and coding solutions for a disk based backup and deduplication hardware product set. Mike also maintained and developed the Health Analyzer phone-home solution. Prior to that, they worked at Sun Microsystems from April 2001 to February 2010 as a Principal Software Engineer, focusing on storage management software development and SMI-S modeling for the SE6920 array. Before that, they were a Principal Software Engineer at Highground from January 2000 to April 2001, where they developed software for Storage Resource Management applications and implemented SRM for Windows & Solaris and Veritas clusters. Their earliest work experience was at Digital Equipment Corporation, where they worked as a Principal Software Engineer from April 1984 to December 1999. In this role, they developed storage management software for StorageWorks arrays and collaborated with IBM on codevelopment of the first WIN32 DMI server.
Mike Carleton earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Lawrence Technological University, which they attended from 1977 to 1981.
