Irene Deng

Irene Deng is an Automation & Controls Consultant at Excel Engineering, a position they began in 2025. Previously, Irene served as the President of Spectrum at the University of Minnesota from 2020 to 2022, where they supported APIDA LGBT+ individuals through community-building events and educational initiatives. Irene also held roles at the University of Minnesota College of Science and Engineering as a Curriculum Coordinator, and at Medtronic as a TDS Design Engineering Coop in 2022, where they conducted tests and prototyped designs for heart catheters. They earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2023.
