Ann Mcdaniel

Ann Mcdaniel has been an advisor at ExecOnline since March of 2022. Prior to that, they served as the CEO of Foreign Policy from May of 2017 to March of 2022. Ann was responsible for rebuilding the storied brand amid previous management and financial troubles. Prior to their role at Foreign Policy, Mcdaniel was the Senior Vice President at The Washington Post Company from January of 2001 to December of 2015. As a member of the top five executives, they worked closely with the Chairman and CEO while also overseeing the company's smaller businesses. These businesses included Newsweek, Slate.com, The Gazettes, The Herald, TheRoot.com, and Human Resources and Public Relations for The Washington Post Company. Later, they became responsible for executive compensation for the company and staffed the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. From January of 2008 to December of 2010, Mcdaniel served as Managing Director at Newsweek. Prior to that role, they were a correspondent and then Chief of Correspondents before becoming the Assistant Managing Editor and eventually the Managing Editor at Newsweek Magazine from January of 1984 to December of 2000.

Ann Mcdaniel has a Master's of Studies in Law from Yale Law School, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government and English from Vanderbilt University, and an Advanced Management Program Certificate in Business from Harvard Business School.
