Germain Lamonde is the executive chairman of the board at EXFO and the previous owner of Quebec SQRI. Germain has also been a part of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year – National judging panel. Germain's work with the government of Canada, Ontario, and Quebec led him to be the chairman of Quebec Digital Strategy Advisory board at Government of Quebec from May 2018 to December 2019. Prior to all of this, they were the founder, CEO, and chairman of EXFO from September 1985 to March 2017. EXFO is a world leader in telecom test and service assurance that develops "end-to-end" solutions to reduce operational expenses throughout deployment and operation. The company is traded on both the NASDAQ and Toronto stock exchanges and has 1700 employees in 25 countries.

Germain Lamonde studied physics engineering at Polytechnique Montréal before completing an M. Sc in physics - optics at Université Laval. Germain then went on to complete an Executive MBA at Ivey Business School at Western University.
