Robert Gavin

Robert Gavin is a Principal Engineer and Mechanical Team Lead in the Certification Group at exida, overseeing the mechanical team that analyzes and certifies OEM products and systems in accordance with IEC61508 and IEC61511 standards. With extensive experience in mechanical engineering, Robert has held significant roles at Kulicke & Soffa, including Senior Mechanical Engineer and Manager of the Mechanical Test Team, where responsibilities included design, drafting, and testing of high-precision assembly systems. Previous positions also include Senior Mechanical Engineer at Demco Automation, focusing on automated assembly systems, and an engineering internship at Kulicke & Soffa, where Robert developed advanced motion prediction models. Robert holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Penn State University, along with certifications as a Functional Safety Expert.
