Peter Numi

Peter Numi has over four years of work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Peter currently works at Exodus Intelligence as a Vulnerability Researcher, where they produce technical documentation and proof-of-concept exploit code for recently patched vulnerabilities. Prior to their current role, they were a Research Advocate Intern at Exodus Intelligence, where they collected metadata for CVEs and analyzed them to write root cause analysis reports with accompanying proof-of-concept exploits and mitigation guidance.

Before joining Exodus Intelligence, Peter worked as a Cyber Security Consultant and Researcher at eKRAAL Innovation Hub. In this role, they conducted vulnerability research, performed security reviews on internal infrastructure, and provided technical training on cyber-physical systems. Peter also offered security reviews and taught secure coding skills to innovators' projects in the incubation hub.

Peter also worked as a Senior Technology Security Assurance Officer at Safaricom PLC, where they conducted periodic security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests on various systems including MPESA and the VoLTE mobile network. Peter ensured compliance with security policies and standards and provided security consultation during product design and development.

Additionally, Peter worked as a Cyber Security Consultant at Foresight Tech Group, where they deployed security software solutions and conducted research on emerging threats. Peter also briefly worked as a Trainee at Protec, A Cyber 1 Company.

Peter Numi has a diverse education history. Peter attended St. Joseph Githunguri from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained their O Level degree. In 2014, they enrolled at the United States International University - Africa, where they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Informations Systems: Forensics Investigations and Cyber Crime. Peter successfully completed their degree in 2018.

Peter also received the Security Intelligence Engineer - Mastery Award for Students from IBM in 2018. In 2018, they obtained the CERTIFIED ETHICAL HACKER V9 certification from EC-Council.
