John Kay

John Kay has a diverse work experience, starting from 1996 to the present. John has held various roles in different companies. John started as a Marketing & Sales Support Assistant at Dymax Corporation, where they handled literature production, graphics organization, and sales leads maintenance. John then became a Server Specialist at Cliggott Publishing Company, managing workstations and servers, as well as supporting PBX, Voice Mail, and Security Key Card systems. After that, John worked at HealthFirst, Inc. as a Server Specialist, responsible for server maintenance and managing various systems such as Backup & Recovery, UPS, VPN, and automation. John then joined Kim Appraisals, Inc. as a Certified Residential Appraiser, where they scheduled property inspections, collected data, and provided valuation opinions. Next, they worked at Insight Global as an Information Technology Consultant, followed by their own company, Citadel Appraisal Services LLC, where they specialized in real estate appraisal, particularly in historic and older residences. After that, John joined Navy Federal Credit Union as a Systems Engineer, focusing on backup and recovery systems and Windows servers. Later, they joined CenturyLink as a Systems Engineer, supporting SaaS solutions for federal and defense entities and developing PowerShell scripts for environment administration. Currently, they are working at Exostar LLC as a Systems Engineer, providing support for customer custom solutions.

John Kay received a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and Music Business/Technology from Hofstra University, where they attended from 1990 to 1994.

In terms of additional certifications, John obtained various certifications from Lynda.com, including Microsoft Azure: Active Directory, PowerShell: Web Access, Microsoft Azure: Create and Manage Virtual Machines, Microsoft Azure: Networking Concepts, Azure Development Essential Training: 1 Azure Roadmap and Key Features, Microsoft Azure: Core Functionalities, Windows Server 2016 New Features, PowerShell Desired State Configuration Essential Training, Learning PowerShell 5, Learning PowerShell Integrated Scripting Environment, and PowerShell 5 Essential Training. These certifications were obtained between 2017 and 2018.

Additionally, John has obtained a certification as a nShield Certified Systems Engineer from Entrust in January 2021, and a certification as a Certified Residential Appraiser from the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation in July 2005.
